Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 September 2026

Summary

Girginos Browser collects no usage data. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no account and no identifier assigned to you. Your settings, history, bookmarks and site permissions stay on your own computer.

Data the browser keeps on your computer

Settings, browsing history, bookmarks, site permissions, download records and site icons are stored in %APPDATA%\Girginos Browser\. This data is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn history recording off entirely in Settings, and delete all stored data with a single click.

Network requests the browser makes on its own

Apart from the requests made by the pages you visit, the browser makes only these three requests by itself:

1. Update check. About 45 seconds after launch and then every 6 hours, the installed browser fetches the signed update manifest from browserapp.girginos.app. The only information sent is the version string in the request header (GirginosBrowser/0.1.0). Our server does not record IP addresses for these requests — those endpoints use a log format without an IP, because a request that repeats every six hours would, if logged with an IP, become a record of when users are online. What is recorded: timestamp, requested path, HTTP status code and version string. These records are deleted after 10 days. You can disable update checks in Settings.

2. Filter lists. The tracker blocker downloads the EasyList and EasyPrivacy lists from easylist.to (roughly every 4 days). The download happens from a separate, non-persistent session and keeps no cookies. The server hosting those lists sees your IP address during the download; those servers are not ours and we have no control over their logs. You can disable filter lists in Settings.

3. Site icons (favicons). Icons of the sites you visit are downloaded once from those sites, written to your computer and served locally afterwards. The request goes directly to the site in question and does not pass through us.

Search

Search queries typed into the address bar are sent to the search engine you have selected (DuckDuckGo by default). These queries never reach us. The privacy policy of the search engine you selected applies; you can change the engine in Settings.

Spellchecking

Spellchecking is disabled, because Chromium downloads its dictionary files from a Google server. That download does not happen.

This website

girginos.app uses no cookies, runs no analytics, and makes no requests to any external resource (fonts, scripts, images). The page is served entirely from this server.

The web server keeps standard access logs for the download page and installer downloads: IP address, timestamp, requested address, status code, bytes transferred, referring address and browser identification. These logs exist to operate the server and detect abuse, are deleted after 10 days, and are not shared with anyone.

The browserapp.girginos.app domain is served through Cloudflare. As an infrastructure provider, Cloudflare processes requests and its own privacy policy applies. On that domain the address recorded by our server belongs to Cloudflare, not to you.

Data sharing

No data is sold, rented or shared with third parties. No third-party ad network or analytics service is used.

Children's privacy

Because the browser collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the effective date renewed.
